Our tennis camp comprises mostly tennis teaching, tennis games, matches and tournaments. Each day will have a different technique, shot or theme as the focus to the day. This means that over the course of the week the kids will have covered all of the shots, techniques and tactics that make up the basics of the game. The last day of each week generally consists of competitive games and tennis matchplay/tournament. The children will be given the opportunity to play other sports and games to break up the day if they wish. Those who want to continue playing tennis will be able to do this.
The sports that the children will play at the multi-sport camp are: - Football - Cricket - Hockey - Tennis - Table Tennis - Dodgeball - Netball - Basketball - Athletic games - Swedish Handball - Rounders
Children should dress in loose comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather conditions, and wear comfortable trainers, no heelys or flip flops. As children take part in a wide variety of activities we ask you not to send them in clothes you would not wish to be spoilt. Please ensure your child leaves all valuables at home as staff are not able to look after a child’s possessions.
Please provide and apply sun protection cream each morning. Staff cannot rub sun protection cream on, so we ask that you show your child how to do this before they attend camp. Spray on sun lotion is a good option for younger children as the staff can do this for them and the children can then rub in themselves. Children are reminded at break times to apply sun cream. It is also a good idea to send a broad-brimmed hat or cap that shades the face, neck and ears.
All children should bring a packed lunch containing non-perishable goods and drinks for morning and afternoon breaks (drinks & biscuits are provided for Mini Camp), please avoid nut products. We encourage children to drink plenty on a regular basis so please pack a water bottle.
There is a tuck shop on site for both camps but we ask you to limit the amount of money your child brings, if you would prefer not to send your children with money then please pack an additional snack for morning and afternoon break as they will get very hungry. The suggested amount for tuck is between 50p - £2.00.
We provide any equipment necessary for all the activities, so there is no need to send your children with anything other than a packed lunch and sun protection. Please ensure all clothing is named and that your child brings home all items at the end of the day. It is very difficult for us to locate lost property once children have left camp.
We need to know about any medical conditions when you make your booking and this will then appear on the daily register. In some cases we may need to get additional information from you regarding your child's needs.
Please inform us if it is necessary for us, or your child, to administer any medication throughout the day. All medication must be kept in a named bag in the office, a medical form and full details can be completed at registration.
Qualified first aiders at each camp will deal with minor accidents and illnesses. Fortunately almost everything we have to deal with are grazes on knees, stings and so on. However should a child suffer a more serious injury or fall ill at camp you will be contacted immediately.
Children love our camps, but very occasionally they may be reluctant at the start of the day. In these circumstances we suggest you leave your child in our capable hands and we promise that if your child is unable to settle then we will contact you. Of course, should you wish to check on their general well-being throughout the day, we are more than happy for you to contact us for an update.
In the unlikely event that your child doesn't settle at the camp, please let us know. Very often by speaking to either our camp staff the same day or following morning, we can resolve any issues related to your child not settling.
We know that your plans can change and we want to be as flexible as possible for you but do require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice. The first change to your booking for each holiday camp is free of charge but all subsequent changes are charged at £5 (unless agreed by the Camp director).
